Candied Sweet Potatoes or Yams

Ingredients

  • 6 large sweet potatoes or yams, peeled, quartered
  • 1/2-1 stick butter
  • 1-2 cups brown sugar
  • water

Instructions

  • Peel and quarter the sweet potatoes.
  • Boil potatoes until soft, but not mushy.
  • Melt 1/2 stick of butter in skillet. Then add 1/2 cup brown sugar, and add in the sweet potatoes and a little bit of water.
  • Simmer and stir potatoes, adding any additional butter or brown sugar as needed.
