Ingredients
- 2 squares of chocolate, baker's chocolate
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1 cup milk
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Melt the chocolate and butter.
- Stir in the milk and bring to a boil.
- Add in the sugar, vanilla, and salt.
- Heat until at the softball stage.
- Pour out onto a marble slab for cooling. Alternatively, lay out on parchment paper.
- Cut and serve.
Notes
This is a real recipe. Kay lived in Utah and died in 2019 at the age of 97. The photo that I included was the original one put on the tombstone. However, there was a typo on the amount of vanilla. It was later corrected to 1 tsp instead of 1 Tbsp. Here is the updated tombstone:
