Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 3 c flour
- ½ tsp anise oil
- ½ tsp anise seed
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 lb powdered sugar
Instructions
- Beat eggs 10 minutes with electric beater.
- Gradually add powdered sugar.
- Continue to beat and add baking powder to flour.
- Fold in flower and baking powder.
- Add anise oil and anise seed.
- Roll out on a lightly floured board to about 1/3-1/2" thick.
- Sprinkle generously with flour and press with springerle rolling pin.
- Cut cake into squares, brushing off any extra flour, and place on baking sheet to dry out for 12-24 hours.
- Bake on fully greased backing sheet at 300° for 15-20 min.
- They should turn faintly yellow.
