Ingredients

Cake

  • 1 ¼ c boiling water
  • 1 c dry quick oats
  • ¼ c butter, creamed
  • 1 c brown sugar, packed
  • 1 c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 ½ c flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Topping

  • c milk
  • ¼ c flour
  • ½ c brown sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 1 c coconut
  • ½ c chopped nuts

Instructions

  • Pour 1 1/4 c boiling water over 1 c dry quick oats.
  • Let stand for 20 min.
  • Cream butter, brown sugar, and sugar.
  • Add eggs, flour, salt, vanilla, baking soda, and cinnamon.
  • Bake in 13" x 9" pan a 350° for approx. 30 min or until knife comes out clean.
  • Topping:
  • Mix and pour topping ingredients over cake and brown under broiler.
