Jim’s Fruit Salad (Ambrosia)

This is one of my dad’s favorites that my grandmother made. Coconut, marshmallows, crushed pineapple, mandarin oranges, and sour cream. You can also add grapes, but we usually didn’t.

Sugar Cookies

Ah….the traditional frosted Christmas cookies. Of course this recipe doesn’t have to be used for just Christmas. How about Halloween? Valentine’s Day? The recipe source is listed as Penzeys, which, apparently, is a space company. I don’t know anything about the spice company, but this is one of the recipes that my grandmother used.

Dressing

This dressing (or sometimes I call stuffing, but we have never actually stuffed a turkey with it!) gets a nice crisp top and sides which is my favorite part. Also a recipe that does not truly have measurements and is done by taste.

Cheese Soufflé

This recipe just says “cheese” and doesn’t specify what kind of cheese. Recipes that I looked up call for sharp cheddar and parmesan, but I am sure those aren’t the only options.

Oatmeal Scotchies

This is a good cookie. Love butterscotch chips, but they are so sweet that they make me.
