Ingredients

Cake

  • ½ c buttermilk
  • ¾ c brown sugar
  • ¾ c sugar
  • 1 c vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 c cooked and mashed prunes, or 2 cans prunes

Topping

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 c sugar
  • ½ c buttermilk
  • ½ tsp baking soda

Instructions

Cake

  • Blend all ingredients in a mixer until well blended at medium speed.
  • Bake in greased and floured, 9"x13" pan at 350° for 35-50 min. As soon as cake is taken from oven, cut into squares

Topping

  • Bring to a boil and pour over hot cake.
