Ingredients
- ¼ c shortening
- ½ c brown sugar
- 1 egg
- ½ c molasses
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ c sour milk/sour cream
- 1½ c flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Cream the shortening.
- Add sugar slowly, creaming all the time.
- Add the well beaten egg and molasses.
- Beat until light color.
- Sift dry ingredients together, including soda.
- Add them alternately with milk to finish mixture.
- Beat well and bake at 375° for approximately 25 minutes or until knife come out clean.(There was no baking time with this recipe, so I had to make a guess.)
