Orange Cake

Ingredients

c
sugar
butter or other shortening about the size of an egg

egg

orange
¾
c
sour milk or buttermilk
milk can be poured with tbsp vinegar

flour
1
tsp
baking soda
1
pinch
salt
1
c
raisins
Instructions
Cream the shortening and sugar.
Add egg, sour milk, flour, salt, and soda. Mix well.
Grind orange rind and raisins, and add to cake batter.
bake in flat pan about 25 minutes at 350° or 375°.
Pour the juice of the orange over 1/2 c sugar, and pour this over warm (not hot) cake.
Serve from baking pan.
Good with a little whipped cream.
